How many times have you heard "keep in touch"? Now you can and it's free!
Personally and professionally, my husband and I often times use Skype. I chose this as my second emerging technology because I want to promote how great it is for those who have a need. Skype is simply a home phone line only through the internet. Skype is an incredibly cheap way of communicating long distance, including overseas. Skype to Skype calls are free, while you only pay .023 cents per minute on other calls or only $6 per month. They make it so easy to pay because all you have to do is put money in your account, like a debit card, and Skype updates you continually on your usage you’re your balance. Because of this assignment, I read something I did not know about. As an fyi you cannot make emergency phone calls by using Skype.
Here's a link to try it out for free. It is super easy to download. Have fun!

ReplyDeleteI chose Skype for my 2nd emergent technology tool as well! Skype has been so beneficial to me, especially when my husband was deployed! It was like our life line! I agree with you on how affordable Skype's services are! Thanks for sharing!

I did not use Skype as my 2nd E.T. but I use it often to keep in touch with my sister-in-law and nieces and tutor my sister who lives in my home town. Thanks for the information!
ReplyDeleteI also used Skype for my technology! I had heard a lot about it but not used it before. I loved it because I was able to chat with a friend of mine who lives in Seattle now. I think it's a great way to keep in touch! I didn't know that the calls on Skype we so affordable! Thanks for the info!
ReplyDeleteCool posting. I haven't tried Skpye yet, but the way you described it, makes using Skype sound very easy and affordable. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteHi Melissa, I think that your children are beautiful. My first choice for emerging technology#2 was Skype but it proved too difficult for me to get onto and explain, but I understand more about it now. Cheers to a good rest of the semester.
ReplyDeletethanks for the information. I have never used skype but it sounds like a great way to communicate long distance. I did not know how cheap it was to use

ReplyDeleteI used skype as well. I loved your information. Thanks for telling us about how you can pay for Skype, and also that you cannot make emergency calls. That would be good to know if someone used this as their only phone. I will be using Skype a lot now, it is a great way to communicate!
